Kenneth R. Irish Burlington - Kenneth Robert Irish, 82, a former resident of Burlington, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010 in Starr Farm Nursing Center following a lengthy illness. Ken was born in Burlington on Feb. 5, 1928, the son of Chester F. and Hazel M. (Hathaway) Irish. He attended area schools. Ken was a decorated U.S. Navy veteran and was later employed as a bus driver for Chittenden County. He was a member of St. Paul's Cathedral and the VFW. He enjoyed camping in his trailer at Lone Pine Campsites in Colchester. Ken was predeceased by his parents and brother Walter. He is survived by a daughter, Kim; a son, Brian; and his sister, Janice Duprey of Fla. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2010 in the chapel of Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home, 71 South Union Street, Burlington at 1:30 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow with full military honors in Lakeview Cemetery, North Avenue, Burlington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chittenden County Humane Society, 142 Kindness Court, So.
