This sheet gives his birth, 1697, Westerly, Washington, R.I., his parents, year and place of death, marriage, name of wife, Rebecca Thurston, who was married first to Edward Richmond. The sheet of his parents gives the same dates and name of wife.
"Anc. and Desc. of Wm. Curtis..." has no birth, same date and place of marriage, to "Rebekah (Thurston) Richmond ..., daughter of Jonathan Thurston ..., she m. 1st May 6 1711, by Richard Billings, Little Compton, RI., Edward Richmond ... and had Sarah, Richmond, Mary, Priscilla and
Eunice."
The marriage, to Rebecca Richmond, is in Westerly marriages in Vol 5 of "V. R. of R. I." by Arnold. His birth is not in Arnold's. Death place is in "A Computer Generated Ancestor Chart for Isabel Werden Larey", found in the Worden Family Association newsletter, "Wordens Past" V. XIV, No.
2 pg 977, which shows his wife as Rebecca Richmond, daughter of John and Elizabeth Richmond.
There is a family group sheet of Edward Richmond and Rebecca Thurston in the Family History Library's FGRA collection showing their last child born 23 Sep 1722. Also, it shows Rebecca being his 2nd wife and shows a 3rd wife, Mary. The addition of Peter Worden as Rebecca's second husband appears to have been added to the original sheet at another time.
Since it gives the marriage to Peter 1720 and the last child on the sheet 1722, it is at once questionable.
The source for the sheet is "The Richmond Family 1594-1896" pg 10, 27, which is on film at the Family History Library, Salt Lake City, film number 301121. It shows Rebecca Richmond, daughter of John Richmond, as wife of Peter Worden and doesn't give any other marriage for her. The Edward Richmond who married Rebecca Thurston is shown as son of John Richmond and Abigail Rogers, and grandson of John Richmond and Elizabeth Nicholas.
The will of John Richmond is in Westerly wills V. 6 pg 316, abstract in R. I. Gen Reg V. 7 pg 307. It names a daughter Rebeckah Worden.
Administration of the estate of Peter Worden, dated 31 Dec 1745, is in Westerly wills V. 3/5 pgs 57 and 198. There is an abstract in R. I. Gen Reg V. 7 pg 311. It names wife Rebecca and says children who signed receipts 28 Jan 1746/7 were Gideon, John, Elizabeth Petty, wife of Joseph, and Mary Worden.
An article in "Wordens Past", Vol. XIX pg 1463, lists Sylvester before Elisha so I listed them that way and adjusted the approximate birth
dates.
