"Amanda Frances was a nurse who worked in people's homes to Care for the sick. I guess she went to work after her husband Whitmore died as she had children. Then to add to it a new son "Claude". She apparently left him with her parents - Benjamin & Bertha Hill. I have not found them yet in census records or elsewhere. I am obsessed by where my dad was from
his birth (1885 until his marriage in 1903. I believe Amanda worked in the Glenwood home for the retarded or mentally impaired in Glenwood Iowa. I know my grandmother M. E.
