Dear Joe, Just found your web site last night; spent a lot of time printing info about the Irish family. I've seen this book before, but your site was nice because I could print off only the info that applied.

We're related through George W. Irish - he's my 4th g-grandfather, I come through his daughter Pamelia (Paruchia, Parmelia, Pemena, etc). I've got some other sources for this family if you'd be interested. I imagine you've got a lot of it, as so much of the info is in the book Descendants of John Irish. I also have info from these sources:

-- The Village of Lewiston Cemetery (book)
-- Will of John A. Irish, son of George W. and Polly -- Niagara Co. Surrogate's Court

Boy, do I have questions for you! What's the documentation on John Irish and Martha being parents to George W.? Do you know anything more about George W.'s and Polly's children -- I have what's in the book, but am missing marriage dates and places, death dates and places, burial places, etc. I've been wanting the source info for this family for a long time. Another relative in Michigan sent me lots of this a few years ago, but without sources. And what are the sources used for the info in the book, Descendants of John Irish? I've got other questions but I'll save those for another time -- don't know how much time you have for this.

I'd really like to go further on this line -- was really glad to find your site. I lucky enough to live "just down the road" from the Family History Library in Salt Lake, and would be happy to look things up for you there if you're VERY patient -- I don't get down there as often as I'd like because of family demands. On the above; one of W. L. Irish's notes concerning the family of Polly's son, Stephen Lucius reads: "From the older generations the descendants have always been told that they are direct descendants of the Ethan Allen Family". This is part of the oral history of my own family as well - descendants of Stephen's brother, Asa Irish. Stephen moved to California, Asa stayed in New York - so the two oral histories converge no later than with the family of this Polly Allen. The 'story' must have originated from Polly, herself. If she believed it, I believe it.
