(Sisson) Wing. They were Quakers.
On
11-6-1792, Jesse and Ruth sold all the land they owned in
Danby,
Vermont and moved to Peru, Clinton County, N. Y.
According
to the U. S. Census of 1790 for Danby, Vermont, Jesse
and
Ruth had: 2 sons born 1774-1784 and 3 sons born 1784-1790.
According
to the U. S. Census of 1800 for Peru, Clinton County,
New
York, Jesse and Ruth had: 3 sons born 1774-1784 and one
son
born 1784-1790. But Pardon and his wife appear in this Census
also
with 2 sons under 10 years and 2 daughters under 10 years.
On
page 58 in Book B. of Mortgages recorded in Plattsburg, Clin-
ton
County, New York are details of a mortgage dated 11-10-1803
and
recorded 12-28-1803 made by Jesse Irish on part of Lot 26 in
Peru,
Clinton County, N. Y. to Nathanial Platt of Plattsburg, N. Y.
On
page 14 of the 1954 edition of the “Annals of the Wing Family
of
America, Inc.”, it shows the lineage: Dr. Luther Irish, (Wing
Irish,
Ruth Wing, 1038; Matthew, Joseph, Matthew, Stephen, Rev.
John
Wing. This shows that the Wing Family considers Wing
Irish
as a son of this Jesse and Ruth (Wing) Irish.
From
family letters and records in and around Hamburg, Boston,
Buffalo
and Angola in Erie County and Ripley in Chautauqua Co.,
New
York, we have proof that Jesse6 and Pardon6 were brothers.
Since
no records have yet been found of the children of this
Jesse
and Ruth (Wing) Irish, from circumstantial evidence, we
feel
sure that the 4 sons named below are 4 of the 5 sons of this
family.
