JOHN2, JOHN1).

7764. IRISH, Jesse5, (Jesse4, Jonathan3, John2, John1)

b. 11-11-1739 in Rhode Island

7765.   m. 10-18-1764 at Dartmouth, Mass., Ruth Wing, dau. of Matthew and

Elisabeth (Sisson) Wing. They were Quakers.

On 11-6-1792, Jesse and Ruth sold all the land they owned in

Danby, Vermont and moved to Peru, Clinton County, N. Y.

According to the U. S. Census of 1790 for Danby, Vermont, Jesse

and Ruth had: 2 sons born 1774-1784 and 3 sons born 1784-1790.

According to the U. S. Census of 1800 for Peru, Clinton County,

New York, Jesse and Ruth had: 3 sons born 1774-1784 and one

son born 1784-1790. But Pardon and his wife appear in this Census

also with 2 sons under 10 years and 2 daughters under 10 years.

On page 58 in Book B. of Mortgages recorded in Plattsburg, Clin-

ton County, New York are details of a mortgage dated 11-10-1803

and recorded 12-28-1803 made by Jesse Irish on part of Lot 26 in

Peru, Clinton County, N. Y. to Nathanial Platt of Plattsburg, N. Y.

On page 14 of the 1954 edition of the “Annals of the Wing Family

of America, Inc.”, it shows the lineage: Dr. Luther Irish, (Wing

Irish, Ruth Wing, 1038; Matthew, Joseph, Matthew, Stephen, Rev.

John Wing. This shows that the Wing Family considers Wing

Irish as a son of this Jesse and Ruth (Wing) Irish.

From family letters and records in and around Hamburg, Boston,

Buffalo and Angola in Erie County and Ripley in Chautauqua Co.,

New York, we have proof that Jesse6 and Pardon6 were brothers.

Since no records have yet been found of the children of this

Jesse and Ruth (Wing) Irish, from circumstantial evidence, we

feel sure that the 4 sons named below are 4 of the 5 sons of this

family.
