4-20-1724 in S. Kingston, Rhode Island. In 1775 he removed to Quaker
Hill,
Dutchess County, New York where he was a prominent
Quaker.
Other members of the family came earlier. He
transferred
to the Nine Partners M. M. on 12-17-1777.

m. (1) 10-1-1748, Dorcas Sheffield, widow of Nathan Sheffield of S. King-
ston,
Rhode Island. She d. 7-24-1752.

Benjamin, b. 3-16-1750. Records state his mother was Sarah, but
Dorcas
did not die until 1752, and Joseph did not marry Sarah

He was a member of the Greenwich, Washington

New York Church, in 1782. They moved to Queens-

Washington County, New York.
