b. 11-16-1711 in Westerly, R.I.; d. prior to 1-18-1797 in Beekman (Town)

Dutchess Co., N.Y. Will was dated 7-8-1792 and proved 1-18-1797.

197. m.   (3) , Thankful Goodspeed, b. in 1746, Sarah’s sister

They emigrated to Quaker Hill, New York, and on 7-11-1861 their

oldest son, Jedediah⁵ and his wife, Susannah (West) Irish joined

the First Baptist Church of Dover, which was a part of Pawling,

New York, where they lived and died. (Oblong Quaker Records.)

It is evident that his first wife was the mother of the older children of

this family, but his second or third wife was the mother of the younger

children, including Lois and Joseph.

Children:

+1684. Jedediah, b. in the early 1730’s; d. before 3-5-1782 when his widow gave

a bond for the administering of his estate.

1685.   m. about 1756, Susannah West, b. 7-4-1730; d. ?-30-1790.

They emigrated to Quaker Hill, N.Y. and on 7-11-1761, they join-

ed the First Baptist Church of Dover, which was a part of Pawling,

N.Y., where they lived and died. (Oblong Quaker Records).

1687.   m., Elizabeth West, sister of Susannah; d. 9-9-1808; (Scipio,

N.Y. Church Record).

1693. Joseph, b. in 1778 in Dutchess County, New York

d. after 1850 in Ira, Rutland County, Vermont

1694.   m. (1) Phebe –, b. 1770-1780; d. between 1830-1840.

1695.   m. (2) before 1840 in Ira, Vermont, Mrs. Susannah (Gallup) Good-

speed, widow of Gideon Goodspeed. She was born in 1768 in

Rhode Island and died after 1850 in Ira, Vermont. Since Gideon

was a brother of Sarah and Thankful Goodspeed, (the second

and third wives of Jedediah⁴) he was a half-brother of this

Joseph Irish born in 1778 in Dutchess County, New York.
